We are working with a respected, award-winning audit, accounting, tax and business advisory firm in Central London to appoint an Audit Assistant Manager (Audit and Accounts) into their Corporate Audit team. The firm combines strong technical standards with a genuinely people-focused culture. It offers a clear pathway to Manager and beyond, making this an excellent next step for a strong Senior / Supervisor or existing Assistant Manager looking to progress in a supportive environment.

The Role: As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will play a hands-on and client-facing role across a varied portfolio, with responsibilities including:
- Planning, leading and completing audits under UK GAAP, including substantive and analytical procedures
- Being heavily involved in on-site fieldwork at client premises and remotely as appropriate
- Ensuring audit files are fully and appropriately documented, ready for PDM and partner/manager review
- Preparing statutory financial statements from client records and trial balances
- Identifying and highlighting key risk areas and matters of concern to Partners/Directors/Managers, using a high degree of professional judgement
- Taking responsibility for the execution and finalisation of audit assignments
- Supporting on related accounts and basic tax work where required as part of year-end engagements
This is a broad audit and accounts position, ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of detailed technical work and front-line client interaction.
Leadership & Team Responsibilities: The role also has a strong people-leadership component:
- Leading, managing, motivating and coaching junior team members on assignments
- Acting as a mentor to trainees and more junior colleagues as they progress through their qualification journey

You’ll work closely with colleagues at all levels, from trainees through to Partners, in a genuinely collaborative environment.
Candidate Profile: From our perspective, we’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong, recent experience in UK practice (mid-tier, large independent or Big 4/Top 10) within audit and accounts
- Solid exposure to owner-managed businesses, SMEs, mid-market, large and listed companies
- Comfortable balancing both audit and accounts preparation responsibilities
Qualifications: ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) essential to work effectively with both trainees and senior stakeholders.
Skills & Attributes:
- Confident in planning and leading audit assignments and reviewing the work of others
- Strong grasp of UK GAAP, audit methodology and file documentation expectations
- Excellent communication skills with a client-focused, professional manner
- A natural people developer who enjoys coaching and supporting juniors
- Commercially aware, with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
- Ambitious and ready to step into or consolidate at Assistant Manager level, with a clear eye on progression to Manager in due course
