Baker Group are pleased to be working alongside our client based in LS12. Due to continued business growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit a Hand Feed Platen Die Cutting Machine Operator.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00am – 2:00pm and 11:00am – 7:00pm (Must be able to rotate on shifts).
Pay: £15.00ph – £17.00ph.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Set-up (Make-Ready): Installing and aligning cutting/creasing dies, preparing counters, and adjusting machine settings for different materials and thicknesses.
- Operation: Hand-feeding material into the press and operating the machine safely to die-cut, emboss, or deboss, often working with materials like folding boxboard or corrugated board.
- Quality Control: Monitoring production to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high quality, especially for complex packaging or POS materials.
- Maintenance: Conducting daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and ensuring the work area is clean and safe.
- Safety Adherence: Following strict health and safety procedures, particularly regarding hand access to the platens.
- Previous experience as a platen operator, ideally with brands like Heidelberg, Cauhe, or Rabolini.
- Familiarity with die-cutting, embossing, and creasing techniques for packaging materials.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise, consistent, and high-quality results.
- Physical stamina to handle large, often heavy, cutting forms and materials.
