Baker Group are pleased to be working alongside our client based in LS12. Due to continued business growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit Hand Feed Platen Die Cutting Machine Operator.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 06.00am – 2.00pm and 11.00am – 7.00pm (Must be able to rotate on shifts)
Salary: £15.00ph - £17.00ph
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Set-up (Make-Ready): Installing and aligning cutting/creasing dies, preparing counters, and adjusting machine settings for different materials and thicknesses.
- Operation: Hand-feeding material into the press and operating the machine safely to die-cut, emboss, or deboss, often working with materials like folding boxboard or corrugated board.
- Quality Control: Monitoring production to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high quality, especially for complex packaging or POS materials.
- Maintenance: Conducting daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and ensuring the work area is clean and safe.
- Safety Adherence: Following strict health and safety procedures, particularly regarding hand access to the platens.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a platen operator, ideally with brands like Heidelberg, Cauhe, or Rabolini.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with die-cutting, embossing, and creasing techniques for packaging materials.
- Precision: Strong attention to detail for ensuring precise, consistent, and high-quality results.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle large, often heavy, cutting forms and materials.
