We are looking to recruit experienced Medical Coders with knowledge of Emis Web Clinical Systems and Docman.
Applicants need to demonstrate a professional and friendly manner along with medical terminology knowledge for coding clinical and non-clinical letters onto patients\’ records.
Applicants will need to have a good attention to detail and work with a high level of accuracy. Experience of medical coding or summarising is essential.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will be the initial point of contact from secondary care, external organisations, and new patients for clinicians, other clinical and non-clinical staff. The role will encompass sorting through documentation requiring coding, coding clinical and non-clinical letters into Emis Web, as well as processing any actions from clinical letters and other communications.
About the business
A new and successful business has been established to support GP Practices nationwide with Document processing, Pathology Results, Medication requests, System Enhancement, and remote patient appointments with clinicians of all levels.
As the business continues to grow, my client is now looking to expand his team of Clinical Coders.
Job responsibilities
- Summarising medical records accurately and efficiently
- Assigning appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Analyzing patient records and recording all relevant information
- Examining records and documentation for missing information
- Upholding patient confidentiality
- Maintaining a professional demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Following established medical coding practices
- Ensuring procedures, policies, legislation, and regulations are correctly followed and complied with
- Liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and recommendations
- Working with team members to improve workflow optimization
Experience
Essential
- Experience in Clinical Coding within Emis Web Clinical System
- Experience of working within Primary Care
- Broad knowledge of General Practice
- Experience working with the General Public/Patients
