BakerGroup are looking for experienced Warehouse Operatives / Packers / Processors on behalf of their client, a market leader in their sector in BB5 Blackburn / Burnley.

Location Overview

Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Assistant Manager will support the smooth running of inbound and outbound operations within a busy 3PL environment. This role requires someone experienced in warehouse operations who can lead by example, motivate teams, and help drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance. The ideal candidate is ambitious, proactive, and eager to learn - bringing energy, initiative, and a commitment to supporting the warehouse as it scales and grows.

Direct Responsibilities

  • Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations to maintain an efficient workflow aligned with customer SLA’s.
  • Assist in coordinating goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and fulfilment activities.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to warehouse team members.
  • Help maintain accurate stock levels using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Work collaboratively across all departments and ensure clear communication across teams and stakeholders.

Quality & Standards

  • Support the timely and accurate fulfilment of all inbound and outbound customer orders.
  • Review existing warehouse processes and controls, recommending improvements to the Warehouse Manager where appropriate.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with stock checks, audits, and performance reviews to support operational objectives.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed and help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Promote high standards of organisation, accuracy, and operational discipline throughout the warehouse.

Line Management

  • Support the Warehouse Manager in setting and reviewing objectives for team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and train staff to help them develop skills and confidence.
  • Encourage a positive, proactive team culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy, fast-paced warehouse operation, ideally with some supervisory or team-lead responsibilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Proven ability to motivate and support teams.
  • Technologically confident and enthusiastic about using systems and tools to improve workflows.
  • Ability to stay calm, organised and focused in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Hours are Monday - Friday 8.00am-5.00pm but some also working some Sundays 8.00am-5.00pm as and when required.

Salary 35-40k per annum depending on experience.
