Job Purpose
Working in cooperation with multiple project stakeholders, you will be responsible for the commissioning of our equipment, and the supervision of electrical installation in customers’ sites around the world. You will be the ambassador of our brand, as you will be the last technician remaining on the site during acceptance tests and production launch, at our customers’ sites.
Main Duties
- As an expert, commission machinery so that its mechanical, electrical, software and process functions perform to the contract specification.
- Modify and fault-find software for a variety of PLC platforms.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by being resourceful on site.
- When required, supervise other engineers on site either employed or contracted by Baker Perkins or by the customer.
- Be aware of and demonstrate the company values and behaviours.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures including feeding back any H&S information to management.
- Support Technical and Customer Services in the office and on site.
- Participate in continuous improvement, helping R&D, Manufacturing, Customer Services, Drawing Office…
Candidate Profile
- Experience of installing and commissioning value-added capital equipment: Food & Beverage, O&G, Pharmaceuticals…
- Knowledge of fault-finding and program changing on PLC (Rockwell – Siemens and others…) – HMI (Rockwell – Win CC).
- Good mechanical and electrical skills: hands-on profile.
- Customer focus with excellent communication skills and a successful track record of developing customer relationships.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
- Ability to work alone but still be part of a team.
- Ability to work away from home base for extended periods of time, both in the UK and overseas - up to 75% travel.
