Responsibilities:
- Polishing parts to required standard by sanding out welds flat, rounding corners.
- Using tools such as sanders, belt sanders, die grinders, orbital sanders.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, sanding, or shot-blasting as required.
- Applying primers, topcoats, and other industrial finishes using spray guns or other application methods.
- Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, thickness, and consistency according to specifications and drawings.
- Perform touch-ups and rework as needed when contracts are dispatched.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety policies and 5S methodologies.
- Track usage and report low stock of paints, solvents, and consumables to the Section Leader.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely completion of production targets.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a team environment and offer improvement ideas.
- No formal qualifications required; experience in industrial painting is essential.
- Familiarity with spray-painting and polishing equipment and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment is ideal.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required.
- Forklift or overhead crane license beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles beneficial but not essential.
