Location: Peterborough, England, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

  • Polishing parts to required standard by sanding out welds flat, rounding corners.
  • Using tools such as sanders, belt sanders, die grinders, orbital sanders.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, sanding, or shot-blasting as required.
  • Applying primers, topcoats, and other industrial finishes using spray guns or other application methods.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, thickness, and consistency according to specifications and drawings.
  • Perform touch-ups and rework as needed when contracts are dispatched.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety policies and 5S methodologies.
  • Track usage and report low stock of paints, solvents, and consumables to the Section Leader.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely completion of production targets.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and offer improvement ideas.
  • No formal qualifications required; experience in industrial painting is essential.
  • Familiarity with spray-painting and polishing equipment and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment is ideal.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Forklift or overhead crane license beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles beneficial but not essential.
