This role will develop and drive the North America business development strategy for the Transactional Practice Group, with a focus on Capital Markets, Banking and Finance, Restructuring, Bankruptcy, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Projects. Working closely with the Americas Head of Transactional Business Development and partners across the region, the Senior Manager will help grow existing client relationships, identify new opportunities and support priority initiatives across the practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Transactional Practice Group leaders and stakeholders to identify, prioritize and pursue new business opportunities across North America.
  • Work with North American and global colleagues to develop cross-selling opportunities and implement strategies that support revenue growth and client retention.
  • Support the development and execution of business plans aligned with North America and global Transactional Practice Group priorities.
  • Lead or support targeted pitches, proposals, requests for tender and other strategic business development responses in collaboration with pitch specialists and relationship partners.
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral, capability statements, practice credentials, biographies and other materials for the Transactional Practice Group.
  • Coordinate directory submission strategy, matter selection and responses for publications such as Chambers and Legal 500.
  • Support profile-raising initiatives, including sponsorships, conferences, memberships, client alerts, newsletters, thought leadership and other market-facing activities.
  • Help shape the strategy for client events, firm meetings, speaking engagements and sponsored programs, partnering with events and communications colleagues as needed.
  • Ensure business development initiatives are coordinated effectively and deliver strong return on investment.
  • Monitor progress against priorities and provide proactive support to partners, client teams and internal stakeholders.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, business or a related field; advanced degree beneficial but not required.
  • Strong business development, marketing or related experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Experience developing business plans, client targeting strategies, proposals, marketing collateral and profile-raising initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams and AI enabled productivity tools such as Copilot or Claude.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into practical, measurable action plans.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility with partners, lawyers, business professionals and colleagues at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, diplomacy and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Collaborative approach with the confidence to influence stakeholders and drive initiatives forward.
  • Disciplined project management style and a focus on quality, efficiency and return on investment.

Pay Transparency: This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $200,000 to $230,000 (annually or hourly) if located in an office in the state of New York. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
