The Billing Analyst is responsible for providing high-quality billing services to Baker McKenzie offices worldwide, ensuring accurate invoice preparation, compliance with Firm policies, and timely delivery of invoices to clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, revise, and finalize invoices in accordance with Firm billing policies and procedures
- Process time transfers, cost transfers, write-offs, and other billing adjustments as required
- Manage assigned billing matters from initiation through completion, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Maintain and update client billing information, requirements, and billing instructions
- Prioritize workload effectively, identify potential issues, and elevate exceptions when needed
- Collaborate with Billing & Collections teams, Functional Leaders, Partners, Personal Assistants, and other stakeholders globally
- Assist in identifying and resolving billing-related issues and support continuous process improvements
- Analyze billing data and complex situations to support informed decision-making
- Contribute to operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Liberal Arts, or a related field preferred
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous billing experience preferred; experience in other Finance functions will also be considered
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team environment
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and proactive approach to work
- Confidence to raise questions and elevate issues appropriately when needed
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify process efficiencies
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve productivity and support decision-making
- Flexibility to work reasonable shifting schedules as required
