The GenAI Training and Development Lead will develop and deliver GenAI training in alignment with the Firm’s Generative AI strategy, ensuring lawyers and business professionals gain the awareness, skills, and understanding required to confidently and appropriately use GenAI tools. The role-holder will identify, design, and implement initiatives that enhance engagement with GenAI learning across all capability levels as well as work collaboratively with key stakeholders to increase the volume, relevance, quality, and adoption of GenAI training resources. The individual will oversee and contribute to the development of materials supporting lawyer-facing and enterprise GenAI solutions as part of the Firm’s Generative AI program.
Main responsibilities:
- Service Orientation: Support the Practice Innovation team and Practice of Law Technology Team in the development of GenAI training strategies and plans that best meet the needs of stakeholders and add real value to the business, ensuring alignment with Firm and AI strategies.
- Work closely with the Technology Change & Adoption team (Adoption Specialists and Technology trainers) to ensure seamless collaboration and output of GenAI training products and services to lawyers and clients.
- Implement the GenAI training strategies in line with the goals of the Firm’s generative AI programme and recommendations from the Firm’s leadership team.
- Ensure the design, governance, structure, quality, and alignment of GenAI training take place per Firm policy and best practice; leverage and promote content in new and innovative ways.
- Deliver appropriate GenAI training, ensuring integration of mandatory training as new GenAI tools are adopted.
- Establish proactive feedback mechanisms and ongoing development of training materials to improve the customer experience and incorporate user feedback.
- Ensure GenAI training is accessible and inclusive for all.
- Build and develop strong and productive relationships across Technology communities and the wider business, ensuring attentive listening and clear communication.
- Drive change and efficiency in the Firm’s adoption and use of GenAI, ensuring the business is ready to adopt and accept change using appropriate change-management strategies.
- Act as a GenAI training and development expert in the Firm and the go-to person for resolving issues and identifying business solutions related to GenAI training.
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Maintain and continually develop subject-matter expertise through high levels of practical end-user engagement and delivery; remain actively aware of developments in the market, GenAI solutions, emerging practices and approaches, and the legal arena, and act on relevant implications.
- Understand and document the complex and evolving GenAI-related business requirements of attorneys across the Baker McKenzie network.
- Work with business stakeholders to map GenAI training requirements and design workable solutions based on GenAI, Knowledge, and Leadership & Learning systems and processes.
Operational efficiencies, quality, and risk mitigation:
- Manage GenAI training to maintain quality assurance and minimize business impact and risk, escalating challenges promptly where appropriate.
- Contribute to global communications on GenAI initiatives to enable cross-cultural working, identify and overcome cultural differences, and deliver workable solutions.
- Support all business aspects of the lifecycle of GenAI training.
- Implement processes and solutions for measuring the effectiveness and ROI of GenAI training programmes.
- Work with training stakeholders to ensure GenAI training materials are accessible via relevant learning and Knowledge platforms.
Skills and experience:
- Experience with GenAI and other AI tools in a professional environment; experience in the legal industry is desirable.
- Able to work well with others and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders quickly.
- Experience in facilitating groups and delivering training sessions.
- Excellent communication skills, able to deal confidently, tactfully, and appropriately with people at all levels of the organization.
- Credible and persuasive with excellent presentation skills.
- Experience in leading and managing projects and people.
- Comfortable working within a large and complex matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and interest groups.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and apply a sense of urgency when setting strategies and executing against objectives.
- Experience in designing and implementing legal training solutions within a law-firm environment is desirable.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
