The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are looking for a technically excellent and ambitious corporate lawyer with between 2 and 5 years’ PQE keen to take on a rewarding associate role within a leading Corporate team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Front-line support of deals, including drafting and negotiating documents, control of due diligence and disclosure exercises and closings.
  • Managing projects to a budget and taking responsibility for client delivery and satisfaction.
  • General corporate advisory work to provide continuing relationships with clients.
  • Engaging in business development activities and promoting the Firm.
  • Building peer-to-peer relationships within clients and intermediaries.
  • Involvement in key industry sector activities (consumer; industrials; pharma/healthcare).
  • Helping with pitch documentation and attending pitch meetings where appropriate.
  • Assisting with the supervision of junior lawyers’ work and sharing knowledge and experience with the team.

Associates are given regular and direct contact with clients, with a culture based on associates being given the level of responsibility they are ready for, rather than a PQE based method of work allocation. There are regular opportunities for secondments with clients and potential posting to other offices under the Firm's associate transfer programme.

Skills and Requirements

  • Current international and/or UK M&A experience in the corporate department of a leading firm.
  • First rate technical skills needed to support the client work of the department.
  • Commerciality.
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
  • Initiative and proactivity.
  • Maturity and gravitas.
  • Strong service orientation - a "client first" approach.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and take responsibility for this relationship.
