Help Us Take Training at Bakers to the Next Level. At Bakers, we know that great people are at the heart of everything we do. As our business continues to grow, we want to make sure every employee has the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to succeed – from their first day with us and throughout their career. We’re looking for a Training & Development Specialist to bring structure, consistency, and fresh energy to training across the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves helping people learn, enjoys creating clear and practical training resources, and wants to make a real difference in how employees develop and progress within the company.
The purpose of the Training & Development Specialist role is to strengthen how we train and develop our people across Bakers. You’ll help lift the Baker Academy to a new level by creating structured training programmes, supporting new starters, working with department heads and technical specialists, and helping employees build the skills they need to progress. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, people-focused, and confident communicating with colleagues across different departments and levels of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing Structured Training Programmes: A key part of this role will be building and organising clear training pathways for operational roles across the business. You’ll work closely with technical specialists, supervisors, managers, and department heads to capture best practice, standard operating methods, and existing knowledge. From there, you’ll help turn that knowledge into practical, easy-to-follow training content that can be used consistently across the company.
- Supporting New Starters and Onboarding: Starting a new role can be exciting, but it can also be a lot to take in. As our Training & Development Specialist, you’ll help make the onboarding process smoother, clearer, and more consistent for new employees. Working alongside supervisors and managers, you’ll support new starters as they learn about the company, their department, our systems, and how the wider business works.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is confident working with people, enjoys creating structure, and has a genuine interest in helping others learn and develop. Print and packaging knowledge is not essential for this role. What matters most is your ability to communicate clearly, organise information, support people, and create training that works in a real business environment. The ideal candidate will be:
- Organised and proactive
- Confident working with people across all levels of the business
- A clear and effective communicator
- Comfortable gathering information from different teams
- Able to turn complex information into simple, practical guidance
- Supportive, patient, and encouraging
- Confident managing training plans and documentation
- Passionate about helping people learn and progress

It’s about giving people the tools, knowledge, and confidence to do their jobs well, develop their skills, and see a future for themselves within the company.
