Help Us Build Brilliant Customer Relationships. At Baker Labels, relationships are at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to work with customers across a huge range of industries, helping them bring their labels and packaging projects to life with quality, care and expertise.

We’re now looking for a motivated and personable Customer Success & Development team member to join our commercial team in Brentwood, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, spotting opportunities, building strong relationships and helping customers get the best from their experience with Bakers.

This role would suit someone who is confident, organised and naturally curious. You’ll be working closely with our sales team to support new customer development, identify opportunities within existing accounts, and help ensure every customer interaction reflects the values and personality of Baker Labels.

If you’re someone who enjoys people, communication, problem-solving and being part of a friendly, ambitious business, this could be a brilliant next step.

About the Role

The main purpose of this role is to help develop new customers in line with the company’s strategy, while also identifying opportunities within existing customer accounts. You’ll play an important part in supporting the commercial team by researching prospects, qualifying leads, monitoring new customer activity and helping create meaningful introductions for the sales and leadership teams.

This is a varied, people-focused role where no two days will feel exactly the same. One day you might be researching potential customers and key decision-makers, the next you could be following up on new leads, arranging meetings, supporting account development or providing updates on pipeline progress.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting New Customer Development: You’ll help monitor new leads and make sure new customers are onboarded properly in line with company strategy. This means keeping an eye on opportunities, understanding customer needs, and helping make sure potential customers receive the right support and communication from the start.
  • Identifying Opportunities: A key part of the role will be researching and identifying opportunities for additional products, services or solutions within existing customer accounts.
  • Working Closely with the Sales Team: You’ll work alongside the internal sales team to develop qualified opportunities and support customer growth.
  • Researching Prospective Customers: You’ll identify and research prospective customers, partners and key decision-makers who fit with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Starting Conversations: You’ll help initiate contact with potential customers through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, networking events and referrals.
  • Arranging Meetings and Introductions: Once opportunities are qualified, you’ll help schedule meetings and introductions for the sales or leadership team.
  • Reporting on Progress: You’ll provide reports on activities, pipeline development and relationship progress as required.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, confident and enthusiastic about building relationships. You don’t need to know everything about labels or packaging from day one. What matters most is that you are willing to learn, comfortable speaking with people, and able to represent Baker Labels in a positive, professional and friendly way.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Confident communicating by phone, email, LinkedIn and in person
  • Organised and able to manage follow-ups effectively
  • Curious and interested in understanding different businesses and customer needs
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities
  • Comfortable working closely with a sales or commercial team
  • Professional, personable and reliable
  • Able to research companies, contacts and market opportunities
  • Good at building rapport and maintaining relationships
  • Detail-focused when reporting on activity and progress
  • Positive, enthusiastic and keen to contribute to business growth

Skills That Would Be Useful

This role could suit someone with experience in customer service, sales support, account management, business development, marketing, telesales, administration or another customer-facing role. Useful skills include:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good written English
  • Confidence speaking to new contacts
  • Research and organisation skills
  • Basic understanding of customer relationship management
  • Ability to qualify customer needs and spot opportunities
  • Good time management
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • A professional and friendly approach
  • Confidence using LinkedIn, email and office systems

Experience in print, labels or packaging would be useful, but it is not essential. Full support will be given to help you understand our products, services, customers and industry.
