The Project HSE Specialist supports safe and compliant project delivery by providing expert input across customer and contractor interfaces, risk reviews, and safety management systems. The role develops and maintains HSE plans, procedures and reporting processes while driving workforce engagement through training, awareness programmes and emergency response support. Additional responsibilities include monitoring contractor compliance, leading incident reporting and investigation activities, and contributing to bids, tenders and client documentation reviews to ensure all project activities meet required health, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Providing HSE input to EPC Project customer & contractor interface, risk and SMS reviews.
- Developing and maintaining HSE compliance plans, compliance reports and action registers.
- Providing support to and participating in emergency response arrangements, including the development and maintenance of procedures and training.
- Providing support to and participating in incident management, classification and investigation.
- Developing occupational health and safety procedures and associated programmes.
- Developing and delivering HSE awareness and workforce engagement programmes as required.
- Onshore administration of event reporting management processes including collating of HSE statistics and key performance indicators.
- Monitoring the compliance of contractors regarding HSE requirements.
- Conducting Contractor/Operator meetings on a weekly basis to ensure HSE issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Providing HSE support in commercial bids and tenders.
- Providing HSE support in reviewing client documentation.
Qualifications
- Have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or a high school diploma/GED with proven experience in similar roles within Oil & Gas operations.
- Have a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, with the capability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem‑solving skills with strong analytical and organisational capability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives with moderate scope and impact.
