Do you enjoy being part of a team that provides high-quality Product Management for our customers? Are you passionate about defining, leading, and executing the customer qualification strategy? Join a team that delivers essential projects.
The Product Manager – Customer Qualification is responsible for defining, leading, and executing the customer qualification strategy for subsea equipment portfolios. The role ensures that customer requirements, operating conditions, and regulatory expectations are rigorously understood, translated into product and system requirements, and validated through structured qualification, testing, and evidence generation. This role sits at the intersection of customers, engineering, operations, and commercial teams—reducing technical and commercial risk, accelerating time to market, and enabling confident customer adoption of subsea technologies.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading customer qualification strategies for subsea equipment across new developments, upgrades, and life-of-field applications.
- Engaging directly with operators, EPCs, and partners to understand field conditions, performance requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Owning customer requirement definitions (URS/CRS) and ensuring traceability into product specifications and qualification plans.
- Acting as the primary product interface during technical clarifications, bid phases, and early project execution.
- Defining qualification roadmaps aligned to industry standards (e.g. API, ISO, DNV) and customer-specific requirements.
- Working with engineering to scope qualification activities including analysis, testing, trials, and field validation.
- Ensuring qualification evidence is robust, auditable, and reusable across customers and regions.
- Balancing standardization vs. customization to maximize portfolio leverage while meeting customer needs.
- Governance of standardized positions with customers to progressively reduce the amount of documents and Es&Qs that have to be assessed on tenders and require repeated approval during project execution.
- Coordinating closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and project teams to execute qualification plans.
- Partnering with sales and commercial teams to support tenders, technical positioning, and customer risk reduction.
- Driving internal alignment on customer acceptance criteria, deviations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Feeding customer qualification insights into product roadmaps and future development priorities.
- Identifying recurring customer requirements and opportunities to standardize qualification assets.
- Supporting continuous improvement of qualification processes, tools, and governance.
Qualifications:
- Strong subsea engineering, product management, systems engineering, or technical project roles.
- Strong exposure to subsea equipment (e.g. trees, manifolds, controls, umbilicals, connectors, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience with product or system qualification in regulated, safety-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of customer qualification, verification, and validation principles.
- Direct customer-facing experience in technical or commercial contexts.
- Have permanent work permit in the UK.
