Baker Hughes Production Controls Systems seeks a Subsea Production Controls Senior Systems Engineer to lead the tendering effort on behalf of PCS Engineering and contribute to the wider ITO team. This role may transition to the execution team as a PCS Systems Engineer, supporting the Project Execution team in delivering project commitments.
During the tendering phase you will be responsible for the PCS Engineering elements of the EPC tender, working with Engineering Product Owners and managers to compile a competitive system tender. The Senior Engineer applies technical and business knowledge to ensure successful outcomes. They work with cross‑functional teams, apply system engineering methodologies such as requirements definition, system architecture, integration, configuration management, and risk management. They may serve as an SME, mentor others, and engage with customers during product definition and requirements gathering for bids and proposals. Seniority may include team leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities – Tendering- Engage in tender studies for subsea control system design and support the commercial team in producing a viable commercial offering.
- Ensure compliance with Company and industry specifications relating to the design and build of subsea control equipment.
- Mitigate technical risk and interface with project execution teams.
- Review client specifications and produce tender documentation, including technical write‑ups and risk registers.
- Take a lead role in the technical execution of tender quotes, from system‑level offering to individual controls equipment orders.
- Lead client negotiations to secure optimal equipment solutions that meet technical requirements and ensure cost efficiency.
- Support the design and development of Subsea Controls system using a Systems Engineering approach, performing requirements management and analysis.
- Deliver updates to system model, create and maintain requirement specifications, and produce design review material and Functional Design Specifications.
- Assess and categorize new technology and products to satisfy requirements and overall system design intent.
- Support the definition of Verification & Validation for the project and generate design verification evidence.
- Ensure designs mature in a controlled manner through a robust technical change control and impact assessment process.
- Support the definition and delivery of System Integration, Test, and Acceptance phases.
- Degree qualified in an engineering or marine discipline.
- Significant Subsea Control Systems experience.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Customer‑facing capability.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness for international travel, though not common.
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards it) – Preferred.
- Tendering experience – Preferred.
- Subsea Systems Delivery experience – Preferred.
