A Schematics Lead Hand performs the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops.

As a Schematics Lead Hand, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading: motivating and guiding a team. Maintain high housekeeping standards and accountability.
  • Production Management: Organize resources, delegate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure daily/weekly targets are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect work, troubleshoot defects, conduct quality checks, and ensure compliance with company/client standards and codes.
  • Safety Protocols: Promote and enforce strict safety protocols, conduct safety checks, and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform, instruct Orbital welding & CNC bending. Interpret engineering drawings and co‑ordinate shift handovers.
  • Communication & Coordination: Work closely with the welding team and supporting functions to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery.
  • Admin & Reporting: Manage time booking, maintain inventory of consumables, monitor Globals, and report on team performance.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to work well on your own or in a team
  • Be part of a 6S lean environment
  • Positive safety and EHS awareness
  • Orbital Welding experience
  • Experience in CNC Bending
  • Have a Permanent work permit in the UK
