Responsibilities
- Provide specialized technical support across development, installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle services for Baker Hughes subsea oil and gas controls technologies.
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring safe, reliable, and high‑quality operation of control systems and associated hydro-mechanical/electrical auxiliary systems.
- System Installation & Commissioning: Support installation, commissioning, and configuration of BH control systems, software, and associated equipment for subsea oil and gas control systems. Execute startup of control panels, calibration, sequencing, and functional acceptance system testing.
- Maintenance & Technical Support: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on subsea oil and gas control systems. Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving instrumentation, electrical systems, software controls, or hydro-mechanical interactions. Perform inspections and diagnostic tasks such as system tuning and equipment testing.
- Customer & Project Interaction: Serve as the primary onsite or offshore technical contact, providing engineering guidance and ensuring alignment with customer expectations. Prepare detailed service notes, technical reports, and documentation of field activities. Support site teams, subcontractors, and customer personnel, ensuring compliance with operational and HSE requirements.
- Operational Excellence & Safety: Follow all Baker Hughes and customer HSE standards, ensuring safe execution of field tasks and risk assessments. Provide recommendations to improve system reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle performance.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hydro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, or commissioning of industrial control systems.
- Have proven capability in troubleshooting software control systems, sequencing logic, and industrial automation.
- Understand subsea oil and gas equipment such as subsea controls modules, subsea electrical modules, electrical and hydraulics harness.
- Be able to create, update and interpret technical drawings, specifications, test procedures, and system schematics.
- Possess strong communication and customer‑facing skills for onsite support activities.
- Be able to work independently and within multi‑disciplinary teams in challenging environments.
- Be willing to travel to onshore testing/suppliers/customers sites and offshore sites if interested.
