The Baker Hughes Internship is designed to enable students either pursuing a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree or recently graduated to gain hands-on work experience as the foundation of their professional lives. Our internships will give you first-hand insights into the processes, systems, and practices that are aligned to ensure customer needs are met through flawless execution and the application of leading-edge technology.
Partner with the best. You’ll participate in focused training, team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset. Drive and be accountable for operational excellence of assigned products/commodities. Provide coordination and leadership in procurement activities for assigned commodities engaging the business leadership team to develop sourcing programs/processes and deliver enhanced productivity. Responsible for all aspects related to vendors’ management and execution, from Supplier onboarding and update, Terms negotiations, scope of work transaction accuracy along with the PO-to-receipt-invoice cycle. Drive proactive involvement in all functional activities related to sourcing to ensure that sourcing has upfront involvement in all new inquiries and delivers solutions related to the assigned products. Driving key sourcing initiatives through continuous improvement projects. Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputation requirements. Own relevant KPIs with special focus on achieving the lowest possible cost at PO placement and cash control, quarterly saving plan, and terms negotiations including payment terms and rebates.
As an Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements.
- Learning internal software to assist with the completion of projects and tasks.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and interns to interact and network with global business leaders.
- Collaborating in the evaluation and assessment of potential suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Supporting the management of relationships with existing suppliers, including communication, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
- Assisting in managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of critical materials while minimizing excess inventory costs.
- Supporting in the creation, processing, and tracking of purchase orders for materials and services.
- Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be currently enrolled or recently graduated in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ level degree in Business/Finance or Law-related program.
- Be high-energy, self-motivated, and willing to take on responsibilities across functions and team boundaries.
- Have influence/communication skills - establish good relationships; proven ability to drive changes.
- Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.
- Be able to legally work in the country that you are applying in, without company sponsorship or time restriction.
