As Lead Product Development and Testing Engineer you will be responsible, under some supervision, for the execution of the technology strategic plan for either product design improvements or new product initiatives (NPI) employing conventional design techniques.
Responsibilities- Ensuring the technical robustness of tests and analysis within New Product Introductions (NPI) and in support of projects validation testing scopes.
- Driving innovation through support with engineering calculations, computational analysis, testing and design (to PI, ASME, DNV, ISO technical standards).
- Executing engineering projects within agreed timelines and taking responsibility for the on-time delivery to planned activities.
- Supporting the definition of program schedules and deliverables considering all aspects of a given NPI program.
- Contributing to technical discussions, clarifications, and qualifications with 3rd party IVA and, where applicable, act as the technical POC.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelors (or equivalent) from an accredited University / College in an Engineering subject and be interested in working towards chartered status.
- Have a good grasp of core engineering competencies such as mechanics, materials and fluid dynamics.
- Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for concept development, innovation and design projects.
- Have the capability and desire to create good quality reports, drawing and other documentation.
- Have an awareness to nonlinear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations for structural assessment.
- Have demonstrable experience of independently executing engineering investigations: defining scope, communicating with clients and creating high quality technical reports.
- Have Permanent work permit in UK.
