Our Process & Pipeline Services (PPS) division provides pre‑commissioning, maintenance, and pipeline services for shutdowns, new builds, and commissioning projects across onshore and offshore environments.
As a Field Specialist III – P&M (PPS Services), you will act as an experienced supervisor responsible for leading Pipeline & Process work scopes, predominantly nitrogen and fluid pumping operations. You will supervise offshore activities, liaise directly with clients, and ensure all work is executed in full compliance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, legal requirements, and core values. You will also complete all required documentation and support the successful delivery of PPS projects.
Responsibilities
- Preparing job programs for offshore operations.
- Liaising with clients both onshore and offshore to progress job plans.
- Supervising personnel during general PPS operations.
- Performing all types of PPS services, including but not limited to purging, leak testing, bolting hydrotesting, FCGT, and pigging.
- Applying knowledge of oil flushing and chemical cleaning activities (desirable).
- Demonstrating full working knowledge of the Permit to Work system.
- Performing risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
- Carrying out standard PPS operations in line with approved procedures.
- Conducting toolbox talks with offshore teams.
- Ensuring all Baker Hughes P&M standard operating procedures are followed.
- Completing all relevant field paperwork, ensuring client sign‑off, and returning documentation in a timely manner for month‑end and project close‑out.
- Ensuring equipment rig‑ups comply with approved procedures and drawings.
- Undertaking line walks to confirm correct hose ratings and fittings are used.
- Promoting the development and progression of junior staff toward further competency.
- Participating in yard operations as required.
- Ensuring daily checks and maintenance of project equipment are completed.
- Providing clear instructions and leadership to offshore teams.
- Recognizing when Management of Change (MoC) procedures are required due to deviations from approved documentation.
- Attending pre‑ and post‑job meetings as required.
- Supporting additional activities as needed to fully exercise professional capabilities.
Qualifications
- Have comprehensive knowledge of PPS operations.
- Possess mechanical experience.
- Bring a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Hold valid UK offshore survival certification and medical.
- Hold all applicable certifications required to work in the UK sector.
- Meet the training and competency requirements defined by the company.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be flexible and willing to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
- Anticipate future operational needs and plan accordingly.
- Be able to work proactively with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.

This is a full‑time offshore field role based in Aberdeen, supporting UK operations. The role involves offshore rotations, client interaction, and participation in both field and yard activities.
