We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our expanding team, delivering innovative solutions across a wide range of sectors.
You’ll play a key role on power and energy projects, including substations, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy facilities – as well as exciting projects in other industries such as industrial, defence, and transportation.
- What you’ll be doing
- Designing and specifying structural elements for diverse projects, with a strong focus on power and energy infrastructure.
- Producing deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
- Reviewing calculations, technical drawings, and supplier submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
- Supporting the development of early‑career engineers and contributing to technical excellence.
- What we’re looking for
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience delivering projects in at least one sector Baker Hicks operates in – power sector experience desirable.
- Progressing towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStruct E.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e. g., Master Series, STAAD, Tedds).
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM regulations.
- Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
- Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
- UK‑based project experience in structural engineering either through employment, internship, or graduate placement.
- Work on a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects, including nation‑critical power projects.
