The Role
We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our expanding team in Preston. This role is perfect for someone with strong personal injury experience, ready to manage their own caseload, support solicitors with complex matters, and mentor junior paralegals.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of personal injury claims from instruction through to settlement or litigation
- Ensure compliance with relevant pre-action protocols and procedural requirements
- Draft and review legal documents including Letters of Claim, witness statements, schedules of damages, and pleadings
- Review medical records, accident reports, and other evidence to assess liability and quantum
- Liaise with clients, insurers, medical experts, solicitors, and counsel
- Support solicitors with litigation strategy, case preparation, and progression of complex matters
- Prepare court bundles and assist with all stages of litigation
- Maintain accurate and compliant case files using Proclaim or similar case management systems
- Provide guidance and support to junior paralegals, assisting with training and quality standards
- Ensure high standards of client care, compliance, and file management
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2+ years’ experience in personal injury or claimant civil litigation
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and procedures
- Proven ability to manage cases independently in a high-volume environment
- Excellent drafting, organisational, and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills with experience handling vulnerable clients
- Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Proficient in Proclaim or similar case management systems
- Proactive, solutions-focused, with strong attention to detail
Qualifications
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification preferred
