We are looking for a keen and ambitious Transport Co-ordinator to join a brilliant team in BD7. The suitable person will be responsible for ensuring all departments' daily tasks & duties are carried out in full compliance with UK transport regulations, as efficiently and professionally as possible. This will involve liaising with drivers, 3PLs, suppliers and customers. Previous experience of working in a Transport team is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discrepancies: Review and action discrepancies reported by the warehouse, depots and drivers by utilising Teams/Excel/Outlook. Investigations will be required to determine cause, effect and remedial actions.
- Sales orders: Monitoring/amending shipments & customer orders on the ERP throughout the day for all depots/3PLs, ensuring resource and capacities are adhered to.
- Staff interaction: Interaction with various members of the wider team via different media will be a certainty and must always be carried out with the utmost professionalism.
- Route planning: After monitoring the orders & shipments through the day, the route planning process must be completed within a limited timescale and with extreme diligence, often in a stressful environment.
- KPI reporting: Daily reporting on all aspects of the transport department - vehicles (including VORs), driver resource, shipment, depot & vehicle weights, orders, 3PLs, agency bookings. All to be completed by using data collected through the day.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a busy office environment within the transport/logistics sector is preferred. A sound geographical knowledge of the UK mainland is an advantage. Good organisational and time management skills are required.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge/use on telematics/camera platforms, route planning systems, KPI reporting, data extraction, Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, telephone system use & scanning.
- Soft Skills: Strong team player, ability to work in a high-pressure environment and a flexible approach to working hours, with a willingness to get the job done. Daily essential tasks to be completed OTIF. A good telephone manner is required.
