A great opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced furniture wholesale business in the Middlesbrough area. Baker Furniture, part of the Barker and Stonehouse Group, offers design-led commercial cabinet furniture to over 300 customers within the UK and Europe, including some of the country's premium national retailers. Baker Furniture is recruiting an enthusiastic and flexible temporary Porter to join their team for approximately 6 months.

Duties Include:

  • The movement and storage of furniture in and out of the warehouse
  • Unloading and loading vehicles securely and correctly
  • Safely storing furniture on racking systems
  • Opening and wrapping furniture
  • Assembling items of furniture (including flat pack)
  • Rotating stock
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
  • Correct and safe use of lifting and handling equipment to move furniture
  • Driving forklift truck/cherry picker
  • Driving company vehicles when authorised
  • Adhering to health and safety rules and regulations
  • Other reasonable duties within the job holder's capabilities
