A high-growth FinTech scale-up is seeking a technically strong Senior Manager Financial Reporting to join its team on a permanent basis. This is a dynamic and highly visible role within the organisation, offering a blend of technical accounting, external reporting, audit and regulatory responsibilities alongside a variety of strategic and project-based initiatives. Joining at a pivotal stage of growth, you will play an important role as the business continues to scale and progresses towards its longer-term IPO ambitions.
In this role, you will be a key member of the financial reporting function, driving enhancements to processes and controls while ensuring full compliance with IFRS standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- External financial reporting
- Technical financial accounting
- Statutory reporting
- Acting as a central liaison across Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Legal and the wider business
You will prepare and review external financial statements, support the audit process and help ensure the quality, integrity and accuracy of financial information produced across the Group. A significant part of the role will involve preparing and reviewing technical accounting papers and accounting memos, developing accounting policies and procedures, and providing accounting guidance on complex business activities and transactions. You will gain exposure to a range of technical accounting areas such as IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IAS 38, share-based payments, financial instruments and consolidation, helping to ensure robust accounting treatment and clear documentation of key judgements.
Beyond your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects including public-market readiness initiatives, new products, commercial arrangements, SPV structures and broader technical accounting matters. You will also support the continued development of the control environment, helping to strengthen governance, documentation and reporting processes as the business grows.
The successful candidate will be an ACA-qualified accountant with a strong background in audit, external reporting and technical accounting. You will have experience interpreting accounting standards, regulatory guidance and legislation, together with the ability to explore complex accounting matters and draft clear, well-reasoned technical papers. Strong IFRS knowledge is essential, particularly around areas such as IFRS 2 and IFRS 9. You will be comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work effectively within a fintech, payments, lending, banking or broader regulated financial services environment. Additional experience of tax matters or SPV structures would be advantageous.
