We are partnering with a global organisation (multi billion t/o) undergoing a major transformation following a private equity acquisition. As part of this journey, the business is separating from a large group and building a standalone finance treasury function. They are seeking a Head of Treasury to design and lead treasury operations. This is a rare opportunity to build a treasury function from scratch, operating at senior leadership level and working closely with the executive team, new private equity owners, and international finance teams.
Reporting to the CFO, you will take full ownership of the group's treasury strategy and operations, with responsibility for liquidity, funding, foreign exchange risk, treasury systems and policy. You will lead the transition to a fully independent treasury function and ensure robust financial control across a complex global footprint.
Key Responsibilities- Design, establish and lead a standalone treasury function for a newly separated business
- Implement group-wide cash management and short-term cashflow forecasting
- Oversee liquidity, covenant compliance and funding structures
- Manage FX exposure, hedging strategy and hedge accounting (IFRS 9)
- Maintain technical oversight of treasury accounting, disclosures and controls
- Design and manage intercompany funding and loan structures
- Review and implement cash pooling and netting arrangements
- Select and implement a Treasury Management System (TMS) where appropriate
- Oversee bonds, guarantees, and credit and trade finance facilities
- Own and develop treasury policies and governance
- Act as a key stakeholder partner to tax, finance and leadership teams globally
- Lead and develop a Treasury Analyst
- Drive continuous improvement and treasury transformation projects
You will be ACT qualified (or equivalent) with the ability to operate effectively in a multinational corporate treasury environment. You will have a strong track record across liquidity management, FX risk, funding structures and treasury governance, with the technical confidence to operate in a complex, international group. You will have demonstrated experience in building or transforming treasury functions and be comfortable working through ambiguity, change and separation scenarios. Experience in carve-outs, M&A or private equity-backed environments will be highly advantageous.
This role requires a hands-on, commercially minded treasury leader who can operate at both strategic and operational level, with the credibility and communication skills to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across finance, tax and the wider business globally. This is a unique opportunity to build a treasury function from the ground up and play a key role in shaping the financial infrastructure of a newly independent global business. You will work closely with senior leadership and investors, with genuine influence over strategic decisions during a critical phase of transformation. The role offers exposure to a complex, international treasury environment, meaningful long-term career progression, and the opportunity to leave a lasting imprint on the organisation.
