The business is fast-growing and operationally complex, and this appointment will play a critical role in strengthening financial control, improving insight, supporting acquisitions, and professionalising the finance capability as the organisation continues to scale. The Director of Finance will have ownership of the day-to-day finance agenda, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and challenge to support decision-making across the business. You will act as a trusted partner to the CFO and senior leadership team, providing commercial insight while ensuring robust governance and controls.
- Leadership & Strategy: Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you will help shape and deliver the finance strategy aligned to business growth and value creation. You will lead, structure, and develop a finance team of approximately 60 people, bringing clarity of roles, accountability, and consistent ways of working across financial control, FP&A, and commercial finance. You will act as a visible and credible finance leader across the organisation, influencing at senior stakeholder level.
- Financial Control, Reporting & Insight: You will have overall responsibility for financial control, statutory reporting, audit, tax, and compliance, ensuring robust governance across the group. You will own the production of monthly management accounts, executive reporting packs, KPIs, and forecasts, and lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles. Your insight will be timely, accurate, commercially focused, and accessible to non-finance stakeholders, supporting effective decision-making at senior level.
- Commercial Finance & Business Partnering: You will oversee all commercial finance and business partnering activity, working closely with operational and commercial leaders to provide robust challenge and support. This will include driving pricing and margin improvement, cost control, productivity initiatives, and performance optimisation. A data-led, analytical approach will underpin your work, ensuring insight translates into clear actions and measurable outcomes.
- Growth & Integration: The role will support further acquisitions, including financial evaluation, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration. You will play a central role in integrating acquired businesses into group reporting, controls, systems, and processes, while driving continuous improvement across finance capability as the business scales. You will also work closely with the CFO on private equity reporting and investor engagement.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience leading large, multi-site finance teams. You will bring a strong blend of technical accounting, commercial finance, and FP&A capability, and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. Experience within multi-site consumer businesses or similarly operational, complex environments, and exposure to private equity–backed organisations, will be highly advantageous.
