A leading UK real estate investment and development firm with a multi-billion pound pipeline is seeking a Head of Finance to join its London team. The business delivers large-scale real estate schemes across residential, office, retail and leisure, with projects spanning some of the UK’s most sought-after locations.

Reporting to the CFO, this is a broad and highly visible role managing a small team and covering corporate finance, financial control, and investment entity reporting. The position sits at the centre of the finance function, working closely with senior leadership to ensure the business operates efficiently while supporting the commercial and financial objectives of major development projects. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership and offers the opportunity to influence financial processes, commercial arrangements and reporting across a complex multi-entity structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the corporate finance activities of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, board reporting and financial analysis.
  • Oversee resource planning, service agreement profitability and the commercial framework governing internal and external fee arrangements.
  • Provide financial insight into the interaction between the corporate function and underlying development projects.
  • Manage and develop members of the finance team, fostering a culture of best practice and collaboration.
  • Act as the key relationship lead for the organisation’s outsourced finance service provider, monitoring delivery against agreed service levels and KPIs.
  • Work closely with finance systems and control teams to identify and implement process improvements, efficiencies and technology enhancements.
  • Support the maintenance of a strong financial control environment across corporate and project entities.
  • Provide financial reporting oversight across key investment vehicles, including understanding the commercial framework and supporting the allocation of profits, returns and investor distributions.
  • Prepare clear and insightful reporting and analysis for senior leadership and the Board.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience in a complex, multi-entity environment. Experience within real estate, infrastructure, investment management, or similarly project-driven sectors would be advantageous. You will likely bring a combination of commercial finance, financial reporting and operational leadership experience, with the ability to operate effectively both at a strategic level and within the detail.

Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside the credibility to partner with senior leadership and influence decision-making. The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and is motivated by the opportunity to improve processes and drive best practice across the finance function.
