A successful US-headquartered international professional services and advisory business is looking to appoint a Director of International Finance into a newly created leadership position. Based in London, the role will lead finance activities across Europe and Asia, working closely with and reporting into senior finance leadership in the US. You will have experience operating within a US-headquartered organisation and understand the reporting, controls and expectations of a US-based finance function.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of an international finance function operating across multiple jurisdictions, covering financial reporting, audit, controls, treasury, tax, payroll and operational finance, alongside acquisitions, integrations and wider strategic projects. You will act as a genuine finance partner, develop the international finance team and continually improve processes and controls.

This is a fast-moving, entrepreneurial and project-led environment. You will combine strong financial and technical capability with commercial judgement, confidence and a pragmatic approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop the international finance team across EMEA and APAC
  • Own management and statutory reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Manage reporting into the US finance organisation and work closely with US-based finance leadership
  • Manage audit, compliance and broader financial governance activities
  • Lead treasury, tax, payroll, banking and operational finance responsibilities
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, entity set-up and strategic projects
  • Drive improvements across systems, controls and finance processes
  • Partner with senior operational and commercial stakeholders internationally
  • Ensure the international finance function operates effectively within Group reporting, control and governance requirements
  • Take ownership of practical day-to-day finance matters and resolve issues as they arise

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA preferred or equivalent) with significant experience across international and multi-jurisdiction environments. Importantly, you will have experience within a US-headquartered organisation and understand how to operate effectively between international subsidiaries and US headquarters.

Alongside strong technical capability, you will be a confident and credible communicator who enjoys developing teams, solving problems and building relationships. You will be comfortable moving between operational detail and senior-level discussions, with the presence to challenge and influence effectively.

This is an opportunity to take on a high-profile international finance role with significant ownership, excellent senior leadership exposure and longer-term progression potential.
