We’re working with a fast growing, PE backed media business in Buckinghamshire that’s looking to hire a Financial Controller. This is a newly created role, ideal for a recently qualified ACA - particularly someone coming from a small or medium-sized practice - who’s looking to take that first step into industry.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the finance function. That includes full ownership of the month-end process, preparing management accounts, looking after the balance sheet, and maintaining tight control over cashflow. You'll also lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, work closely with external accountants and advisors, and play a key role in ensuring that financial controls and processes are running smoothly.

As the business continues to grow, you’ll be expected to get involved in more strategic and commercial areas of finance - supporting with financial modelling, helping assess business performance, and providing analysis to guide decision-making. It’s a hands-on role with real scope for progression and development, with a clear path to stepping up into a broader leadership role in the near future.

The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified ACA (or finalist) with a solid technical grounding and a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. If you’re looking for your first step into a commercial business where you can take on real responsibility early and grow alongside a successful team, this could be a great fit.
