The successful applicant will be working on designing and engineering interior furniture for Rail, Airport, Commercial Office, and other specialised sectors.

- Position(s) Available
- Design Engineer: Permanent, full-time position. 4 day working week in operation (Monday to Thursday 6AM to 4.30PM). Starting rate of pay dependent on experience. Company pension.
- Metal Finisher (Days): Responsible for finishing stainless steel / aluminium / mild steel parts. See responsibilities and requirements below.
- Welder/Fabricator: Responsible for welding of stainless steel / aluminium / mild steel parts. See responsibilities and requirements below.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Designing concept and production 3D-CAD models of various products within Rail, Airport, Commercial Office and other specialised areas, using Solidworks.
- Generating detailed production and assembly drawings.
- Undertaking hand calculations to support initial design development stages.
- Providing necessary engineering support to production department and providing creative solutions to problems.
- Developing reports and documents for DFMEA, RAMS, LCC, O&M and Test Reports.
- Ensuring ECN and MRP systems are followed throughout the product development process.
- Specifying and maintaining welding, bonding, testing documents for production and approvals.
- Responsible for the product development process and liaising with suppliers/customers throughout the project.
- Necessary requirements (Design Engineer)
- Applicants must have a Degree in Design or Engineering.
- Minimum of two years Solidworks work experience in designing complex assemblies and parts.
- Minimum of two years experience producing technical drawings in a design role.

- Minimum of two years experience generating welding documentation for applicable standards and mechanical testing procedures.

- Work from engineering drawings, translating what is on paper into a high quality finished product that meets exacting specifications.
- Fulfill work schedules established by the Production Manager and Department Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintain good communication with the Production Manager, Supervisor and other team members to enable effective cooperation.
- Maintain the quality and standard of work expected from all employees.
- Adhere to lean practice and operate within the team under the direction of the Team Leader or Department Manager.
- Reduce scrap and rework; adhere to Health & Safety requirements; PPE must be worn at all times.
- Operate the MRP system and conduct scheduled checks on machinery.
- Check all fabricated products for dimensional accuracy and record information on approved documentation as required.
- Ensure that no cross-contamination of ferrous and non-ferrous materials occurs and maintain good housekeeping.
