Our client, who supports the Automotive sector, has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established team and is looking to recruit someone for an immediate start.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will work on new and refurbished resistance welding machines that are supplied to a wide range of clients from within the automotive industry.
- Overhauling, repairing and refurbishing parts and equipment
- Fulfil parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained, hence minimising downtime
- Assist with ongoing project work e.g. new equipment installations
- Undertake any reasonable requests for training, either internally or externally, to improve performance and capabilities
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours when cover is required
Qualifications / Key Skills:
- Apprenticeship in associated field or adequate experience
- Working knowledge of various types of welding machines an advantage
- Ability to work under instruction and on own initiative
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work safely and adhere to health and safety protocols
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical trades are desirable
