We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in Kidderminster for a Product Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer. You’ll join a fast-paced production environment, taking sheet metal products from initial design through to manufacture. This is a great opportunity as the Client is willing to provide training on Solidworks, programming, and also Sigmanest. Ideally you will have some experience or knowledge within a CAD environment to be able to pick up the knowledge required.
Key responsibilities
- Produce accurate, detailed sheet metal designs using SolidWorks
- Create production-ready drawings and documentation for the shop floor
- Work closely with surveyors and estimators to develop practical, cost-effective designs
- Support a smooth transition from design to manufacture, working to tight deadlines
Essential skills & experience
- Ideally experienced within a sheet metal design environment
- Ideally proficient in using CAD, and the willingness to learn Solidworks
- Good understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes and machinery
- Understanding of quality control tools and measuring equipment
Desirable
- Experience with CNC machine tools (laser cutters and/or punching machines)
- Programming experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
