Key responsibilities include leading all site operations, creating a safe working environment and delivering strong financial results. Plan, coordinate and control all manufacturing and operational support processes to meet volume, cost and quality targets. Drive advanced capacity and production planning, ensuring constraints are identified and addressed. Oversee supply chain and materials flow: raw materials, internal movement, processing, finished goods and dispatch. Own site engineering, new projects, facilities and security. Embed a strong safety and continuous improvement culture using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S. Lead and develop operational teams: resourcing, training, performance management and succession. Work closely with Quality to maintain and improve quality control and compliance. Own operational KPIs including OEE, OTIF, P&L / Gross Margin, and produce regular performance reports.
Candidate profile includes being degree-qualified (a second business-related degree is advantageous) with 10+ years’ leadership experience in continuous manufacturing operations. Strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of P&L, margin and cost management is essential. A proven track record in building high-performing teams and leading change is required. Excellent communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, shop-floor-visible leadership style are necessary. Ideally, candidates will have worked within the Automotive, pharmaceutical or packaging engineering sector. You must have the full right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
