Scope of Role
Coordinate day-to-day operational activities across each shift to ensure requirements are met efficiently, on time, and cost-effectively from raw material and finished goods inventories. Lead warehouse, picking and goods-in teams to deliver safe, compliant and high-performing operations.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Coordinate daily operational activities across the shift/site to meet efficiency, service and cost targets.
- Lead warehouse, picking and goods-in teams by example, promoting a safe and food-safe culture through Quality Systems and Procedures.
- Ensure adoption of Good Manufacturing Practices and correct use of PPE and equipment.
- Support training and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with correct operation of MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
- Promote a Clean-As-You-Go culture across yard, canopy, warehouse and BDC areas.
- Drive a Right-First-Time culture and continuous improvement by identifying root causes of failures, non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Maintain stock care, accuracy and rotation to minimise damage, reduce shortages, improve picking accuracy and limit write-offs.
- Ensure people and equipment issues are reported and escalated to the Logistics Manager where required.
- Manage absence and behaviour in line with company policies, liaising with HR where appropriate.
- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Carry out clear and structured shift handovers.
- Support projects aimed at improving warehouse and picking efficiency.
