Avalon Housing, a specialist recruiter for interim and permanent solutions in social housing, are seeking a highly effective Housing Options Manager to lead our front-line housing services. You will be responsible for the overall development, co-ordination, and delivery of a proactive homelessness prevention and advice service, aiming to reduce homelessness and minimise the use of temporary accommodation across the locality.
Key Duties of the Housing Options Manager:
- Lead and manage a team of officers, including five Team Leaders, to achieve high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes for residents.
- Ensure the Council meets its statutory duties in line with homelessness legislation, guidance, and case law through robust casework and assessments.
- Oversee a highly effective triage service with a focus on crisis management and upstream prevention activity.
- Manage housing advice and options budgets, including expenditure forecasting and ensuring value for money.
- Develop and deliver the Council's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy and related essential policies.
- Promote multi-agency working with internal and external partners to address housing needs and secure settled housing solutions.
- Lead the procurement and future improvements of the Council's housing advice and homelessness case management software.
