Global Training at Bain builds capabilities through a range of learning options.

This includes live virtual and in-person programs, apprenticeship, coaching, mentoring, social, and self-directed digital learning.

We are expanding the range and reach of digital/online learning at Bain through "next generation" content and engaging learner experiences.

The Manager, Digital Learning Design will proactively engage with content developers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine skills gaps/learning needs, design/develop high-quality learning materials, and partner with external vendors in the content production process on complex projects.

The role is focused on digital learning design and development.

This role partners with business leaders, subject matter experts, and fellow designers to create learning experiences that are engaging, beautifully designed, and built for the future.

The ideal candidate should be energized by learning design, skilled at leveraging AI to design and build better learning experiences, and passionate about creating experiences people genuinely enjoy using.

  • Digital learning design, curation and development
  • Design engaging digital learning experiences using evidence-based instructional design principles and adult learning best practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and translate complex topics into clear, impactful learning solutions.
  • Create storyboards, learning journeys, interactive modules, videos, and other digital learning assets.
  • Analyze learning data and feedback to measure the effectiveness of learning paths and make data-driven improvements
  • Design curriculum to meet identified learning and development needs using best practices and innovative ways to deliver, measure, and assess learning
  • Research, brainstorm, and storyboard concepts for a variety of cutting-edge learning interactions
  • Design and build visually compelling, high impact and interactive learning modules and experiences
  • Identify the appropriate method to achieve desired outcomes, incorporating best practices in instructional design, blended learning, and trends beyond traditional learning and development
  • Provide technical advice on instructional design methods and the use of learning technology and to others who are developing digital learning
  • Workplan, manage projects to deadlines, facilitate effective reviews with SMEs and stakeholders
  • Conduct testing, quality assurance and troubleshooting -- demonstrating strong attention to detail
  • Apply Bain brand guidelines and accessibility requirements
  • Oversee team members in the design, curation and development of digital learning

  • Proactively partner with others in global training to determine skill gaps/learning needs for Bain audiences
  • Conduct needs and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for content; separate "nice to know" from "need to know" (content limiting)
  • Define instructional, learning, or performance objectives based on needs assessments
  • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of content according to ease of use, achievement of learning outcomes, knowledge transfer, and Net Promoter Score
  • Develop measurement strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or learning content
  • Innovative experiences
  • Experiment with AI tools and emerging technologies to improve learning design, content creation, and learner engagement.
  • Help shape Bain's approach to AI-enabled learning by bringing new ideas, prototypes, and best practices to the team.
  • Follow and develop new 'best-demonstrated practices' (BDPs) for critical experience design functions including vendor management, curation, graphics, video, and mobile learning
  • Create a project workplan from inception to completion (plan, develop, produce, deliver) and promote innovative use of technology
  • Organize QA, focus groups, and other quality control measures

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent, with strong academic credentials or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing digital learning using principles for instructional design, instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of outcomes
  • Concentration in learning technology, instructional design, education, or multimedia/design (or relevant certifications)
  • Demonstrated experience with digital learning and media authoring tools (e. g. Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Suite)
  • Strong familiarity with instructional design methodologies and new/emerging learning technologies
  • Knowledge of SCORM, x API, and learning management/content management systems
  • High proficiency with MS Office and demonstrated experience with reporting and presentation tools
  • Strong visual design skills
  • Curious, collaborative, and excited to explore how AI can transform learning and performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Ability to problem solve, take initiative, lead execution of small and mid-sized projects
  • Ability to prioritize, self-motivate and work autonomously with strong time management skills
