Overview
In this role you drive the governance and optimization of Bain’s external research vendors and expert networks. You work across teams to ensure quality, compliance, and value from a growing vendor ecosystem, while piloting tools and refining workflows. You’ll coordinate onboarding, track spend and performance, and support cross-functional decision making. This is an opportunity to shape how vendor relationships enable faster, better-informed client insights at scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage Bain’s portfolio of external research vendors and expert networks
- Lead regular vendor meetings from planning to action closure
- Monitor vendor performance, spend, usage, and issues to identify trends
- Coordinate onboarding, renewals, amendments, and offboarding with Legal, Risk & Compliance, Finance
- Conduct quality, compliance, and documentation checks and escalate issues with proposed solutions
- Contribute to process and innovation by piloting tools andreshaping workflows
- Prepare progress updates for the Manager on risks and decisions
- Foster relationships across research, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Finance, technology, and client-service teams
- Maintain accurate process documentation, templates, and repositories
Key requirements
- 3–6 years in vendor or supplier management, operations, procurement, professional services, external talent, or related field
- Track record of managing multiple workstreams with limited direction
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to prepare concise updates
- Comfort with performance, spend, and usage data; proficient in Excel
- Collaborative with cross-team stakeholders and strong judgment in handling confidential information
