Overview
As a Technologist – Expert Senior Manager, you will help scale Bain’s Technology Insights Group by applying deep software and architectural expertise to technology due diligence and value creation engagements. You will work with global technology leadership and PE/General Consulting teams to translate complex tech findings into business implications and investment considerations. You will lead senior-level technical discussions, shape executive conclusions, and contribute to proposals and IP development. Responsibilities
- Own the technical answer and shape executive-level conclusions with case leadership
- Evaluate product capabilities, technical debt, architecture, and cybersecurity risks against investment theses
- Translate technical findings into business implications and investment requirements
- Lead deep-dives on critical topics and leverage expert networks for specialized input
- Participate in client discussions and support management deep dives with senior clients
- Help win new work through credible technical storytelling and proposals
- Contribute to TIG intellectual property and identify new diligence/value creation opportunities
- Mentor junior TIG teammates and share knowledge across Bain
Key requirements
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years in leadership roles
- Recent experience with AI-enabled software development lifecycles and AI/generative AI in products or processes
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, cloud/mobile computing, cybersecurity, data/analytics, AI/ML
- Experience assessing R&D organizations and software development practices (testing, QA, CI/CD)
- Understanding of major software applications (e-commerce, ERP, CRM, data warehousing, BI)
- Track record leading and collaborating on strategic initiatives
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate across offices/regions and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as required
- Consulting experience or hands-on technical due diligence is a plus
