Joining Technology Insights Group (TIG) is an exciting opportunity to build a new and critical capability at Bain. You will work closely with the global Tech leadership and the regional private equity (PE) teams. At Bain, you will leverage your technology and consulting experience in actively contributing to projects, assessing key aspects of leading software companies for PE investors. You will help our clients strategically approach how technology will shape their businesses and solve some of the most challenging issues they face. Working alongside an outstanding group of individuals, you will develop and enhance your own technology expertise, commercial acumen, and analytical capabilities. Additionally, you will gain direct exposure to CEOs, Executives, and Private Equity professionals. Responsibilities
- Lead and drive technology due diligence and value creation assignments on behalf of PE investors targeting software businesses.
- Actively lead the case team across the entire client engagement, from formulating the project scope to building and presenting the final report.
- Manage all workstreams across primary and secondary research efforts of the team; collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data across a variety of sources.
- Conduct hypothesis-led problem solving, communicate complex ideas, and approach problems strategically.
- Effectively develop and communicate recommendations and insights to the project team, PE investors, and technology leaders.
- Enhance Bain\’s Tech Insight\’s brand through external reputation building and marketing efforts.
- Invest in special initiatives and projects that help us scale the practice (ops/systems).

Qualifications / What is Highly Valued
- Passion for software and the tech industry (e.g., digital transformation, disruptive business models). 5-7 years in a software or technology-related position or industry; technical diligence experience preferred. Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information. Inquisitive mindset and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Client service orientation and emotional intelligence (EQ): passion for delivering high-impact client results in a fast-paced, evolving environment; exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional agility; ability to interface across Bain and client organizations; outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and teamwork: desire to join a rapidly growing startup within a leading strategy consulting firm; entrepreneurial, curious, creative, and innovative thinking; strong alignment with Bain operating principles; strong teamwork ethos.
- Management experience: ability to manage and motivate team members with diverse skills and backgrounds in an inclusive fashion; proven track record developing and coaching junior team members; direct management experience in a consulting or operating line role highly desired.
- Strong analytical capabilities and background: analytical and data-driven mindset; aptitude for creative, quantitative, and qualitative problem solving; undergraduate/masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, business management, information systems); MBA and top-tier consulting experience preferred but not required.
