You'll join Bain's EMEA Client Risk team, which supports Bain's client selection and acceptance process, Proceed with Pride. Developed in partnership with our Industry and Capability Practice Areas, Proceed with Pride helps ensure we can be proud of the work we take on. The team works closely with Partners and senior stakeholders to identify and manage potential client, reputational, ethical, regulatory, and sector-related risks. When concerns arise, the team helps guide thoughtful discussion and identify the right mitigating actions to enable Bain to proceed responsibly. In some instances, this process may lead to a joint decision not to proceed.

Regional Risk Officers have been appointed to lead Regional Risk teams and align Proceed with Pride more closely with Bain's line leadership. Regional Risk Officers are experienced, independent Advisory Partners and report to Bain's Chief Risk Officer, who reports to the Board Risk Sub-Committee.

WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As an EMEA Client Risk and Reputation Analyst, you'll support the Director, EMEA Client Risk, and the EMEA Regional Risk Officer. You'll help shape and execute the region's approach to client selection and acceptance, acting as a key driver of strategic thinking and operational execution across risk efforts in EMEA. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of ethics, reputation, and real-world events. You'll apply critical thinking to complex topics, including geopolitics, regulatory scrutiny, sensitive sectors, and artificial intelligence. You'll support senior decision-making on whether and how Bain engages with clients and different types of work, balancing ethical and reputational trade-offs while protecting Bain's values and enabling responsible growth. You'll also help build a critical capability for Bain's future. Proceed with Pride is a growing and evolving function, and you'll help shape how we manage emerging risk issues, expand our scope, and modernize how we operate at scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will lead and manage end-to-end risk assessments as part of the EMEA client selection and acceptance process, including monitoring the EMEA opportunity pipeline to identify higher-risk cases flagged by risk guidelines, such as work in regulated and reputationally sensitive sectors.
  • You will confirm assessment requirements with Partners and facilitate in-depth discussions on client context and strategy, reputational considerations, and risk trade-offs.
  • You will conduct relevant research, frame key questions, and coordinate input from Legal, PR, and other internal experts.
  • You will summarize decisions and mitigation plans, monitor implementation, and evaluate outcomes to protect Bain's reputation and enable responsible growth.
  • You will help build and sustain a culture of risk mindfulness across the region, owning and producing reporting on client risk and reputational themes across EMEA, highlighting strategic implications and emerging external drivers.
  • You will design and develop briefing materials and coordinate leadership updates for senior stakeholders, including EMEA leadership and Practice Area Heads.
  • You will also design agendas and run regular sessions with Practice Area Managers to build awareness, surface risks, and strengthen risk capabilities across teams.
  • You will strengthen the Proceed with Pride team through scalable, forward-thinking solutions. This may include supporting initiatives to build and evolve the team's purpose and mission, leveraging AI to automate processes and improve insight generation, and continuously refining frameworks and guidelines to remain effective in an ever-changing environment.
