In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior HR Manager and partner with colleagues across Talent Acquisition, Finance, legal teams, external immigration providers, and other internal stakeholders to deliver a high‑quality HR experience. As a Specialist, Human Resources, you'll support HR services across Bain London, focusing on mobility and immigration alongside broader HR activities. This hands‑on role combines operational delivery and employee‑facing support. You'll act as the key point of contact for mobility and immigration processes while supporting core HR activities such as absence management, employee relations, policy updates, and HR initiatives. This role is well suited to someone with a strong HR foundation who wants to deepen expertise in a fast‑paced professional services environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination of immigration processes for new hires and employee transfers, including visa applications, extensions, and renewals.
- Act as the key point of contact for employees and stakeholders on immigration‑related queries, providing guidance and escalating complex cases where appropriate.
- Work with immigration vendors to support compliance with UK immigration regulations, including right‑to‑work checks, accurate documentation, and visa expiry tracking.
- Liaise with external immigration providers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition and Finance.
- Support inbound and outbound mobility processes, coordinating with relevant teams and third‑party providers.
- Help monitor immigration and mobility compliance and risks, recommend mitigation where needed, and support the annual immigration audit.
- Manage relationships with external immigration vendors to help ensure service expectations are met.
- Support the HR team in advising employees on employment law and company policy, including parental leave, flexible working requests, and leaves of absence.
- Provide support on employee relations matters, including process coordination and case management under guidance.
- Help keep the company policy handbook and internal guidance materials up to date, reflecting relevant Employment Law changes and opportunities for improvement.
- Support HR projects and initiatives focused on process improvement, employee experience, and cross‑team collaboration.
- Contribute to maintaining up‑to‑date HR, mobility, and immigration resources on internal platforms.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience in a professional services environment or similar setting.
- Knowledge of Employment Law and an interest in staying current on local legislation changes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgement.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and a drive to improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.
- Clear communication and strong relationship‑building skills with stakeholders.
- Customer‑focused and collaborative approach to work.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR systems such as Workday.
- Desirable familiarity with absence management and/or employee relations processes.
- A CIPD qualification, or progress toward one, is a plus.
Standard hours are 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, although a reasonable amount of flexibility is required, especially at peak times.
