WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join Bain’s Global Marketing team and play a critical leadership role within our Events function. Working closely with senior leaders across Marketing, Corporate Relations, Market Reputation, Brand, Digital, PR, Media, Video, and Practice Marketing, you will help shape and deliver some of Bain’s most important global events and conference activations. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with stakeholders across the firm to create exceptional experiences that strengthen Bain’s reputation, deepen client relationships, and support commercial objectives globally.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As Senior Manager, Marketing Events, you will serve as a senior leader within the Events team, balancing strategic oversight, operational excellence, and hands‑on event delivery. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will oversee day‑to‑day team operations, lead priority global programs, manage a team of event professionals, and drive continuous improvement across event planning and execution. You will be responsible for delivering high‑profile global initiatives, including flagship activations such as the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting and Cannes Lions, while ensuring consistency, quality, and operational excellence across the broader event portfolio.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of event professionals, providing clear direction, ongoing feedback, and performance management.
- Allocate event assignments across the team to balance workloads and support professional development.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex questions, challenges, and decisions.

Event Delivery & Program Leadership
- Lead the end‑to‑end planning and execution of priority global events and conference activations.
- Manage flagship programs including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos) and Cannes Lions.
- Oversee event logistics including venue operations, production, hospitality, hotel room blocks, delegate management, dinners, forums, and receptions.
- Coordinate planning, execution, and on‑site delivery across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks to ensure seamless execution.
- Develop and deliver event briefings for delegates and executive assistants.
- Ensure all events are executed to a consistently high standard and aligned with firm priorities.
Conference Sponsorship Strategy
- Define Bain’s approach to conference sponsorships and evaluate opportunities based on strategic alignment, audience relevance, and commercial impact.
- Advise Bain stakeholders participating in sponsored conferences on engagement strategies and event participation.
- Manage relationships with conference organizers and commercial partners.
- Lead sponsorship negotiations in partnership with Procurement and Legal teams.
- Identify opportunities to align sponsorship investments with broader firm initiatives and partnerships.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain oversight across the event portfolio to ensure timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- Drive adoption of best practices, processes, and tools across the team.
- Develop and maintain event playbooks and continuously incorporate lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize event delivery.
- Support implementation and adoption of event management technologies and systems.
Event Impact & Measurement
- Partner with the Senior Director to measure the impact and return on investment of event and conference programs.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, and insights to inform future event strategies and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with Analytics teams to integrate event data into broader firm reporting.
- Support annual planning, budgeting, and portfolio management activities.
- Establish scalable and repeatable operating models across teams and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Corporate Relations on shared initiatives, including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Brand, Digital, PR, Media, Video, and Practice Marketing teams.
- Build strong working relationships with executive assistants supporting Bain delegates.
- Drive stakeholder alignment and clear accountability across event initiatives to deliver coordinated and impactful experiences.
ABOUT YOU
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in event management, preferably within a management consulting, professional services, or corporate environment.
- Proven success leading complex, high‑profile global events and conference programs.
- Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching and developing team members.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills across senior internal and external audiences.
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation capabilities.
- Experience operating within a fast‑paced, global, and matrixed organization.
- Hands‑on experience supporting major global conferences and events such as WEF, Cannes Lions, Mobile World Congress, or similar programs.
- Experience with event technology platforms such as Cvent, Salesforce, or similar systems.
- Strong operational and program management skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
