Vector is Bain's digital delivery platform, encompassing our AI, Insights, & Solutions (AIS) and Enterprise Technology capabilities. These teams drive Bain's work across generative AI, digital transformation, and innovation. As part of the Americas Vector Talent & Operations team, you'll support a growing group of 200+ professionals—spanning product management, design, analytics, and engineering—who work within technically focused guilds. Bain is making significant investments in this area, with ambitious growth plans over the next three years.
This role will manage global Enterprise Technology (ET) talent, staffing, and operations, overseeing a team of Program Managers while working closely with global and regional technical, commercial, and talent leadership. This individual will ensure consistency and alignment across staffing and talent management initiatives, and help drive the overall talent strategy for ET globally.
ET sits alongside AI, Insights & Solutions (AIS) within Vector: Bain's umbrella brand consisting of our digital capabilities. The ET team today consists of ~100 expert client delivery professionals and a broad set of affiliates and leaders, with ambitions to grow the business over the next 3 years.
What You'll Do
- Work with technical, commercial, and talent leadership to develop and execute the talent strategy for ET guilds including talent forecasts, sourcing, development, skills tracking, and team experience; work with Guild leads on talent needs and resolve pain points.
- Track team and individual utilization across all ET guilds, determine underlying causes of low utilization and develop specific plans by individual, with program managers, to improve.
- Support regular cadence of check-ins between commercial, technical leadership and industry interlocks to develop connected and seamless deployment motions and visibility into talent.
- Support recruiting in the region, working through Experienced Talent Recruiting and Leadership Recruiting and in conjunction leadership.
Staffing and Professional Development (40%)
- Manage regional Program Managers, creating a community in support of the regional delivery teams; identify and (co-) lead initiatives to improve staffing transparency and efficiency and ensure best-in-class professional development for all delivery team members.
- Support staffing for most complex strategy/technical delivery projects that span across the full suite of Vector capabilities.
- Be the main point of contact and create smooth integrated team staffing with general consulting in each region (and by office), building strong relationships with office and region commercial operations leads.
- Engage in PD discussions and issues for Expert Partners and EP guardian and promotion processes for Expert APs in region.
- Work seamlessly with Global and Regional Practice Directors, as one team, to understand regional commercial demand and forecast staffing options.
- Work seamlessly with General Consulting Staffing VPs to ensure strong integrated case teams (from initial staffing configuration through case experience).
- Ensure appropriate engagement of Expert leaders (Expert APs/Expert Partners) in pipeline pursuits.
- Coordinate with Global Vector team and HR Business Partner on HR-related topics, e.g. cross-regional transfers.
Employee Experience & Culture (20%)
- Support Program Managers and Global Guild Leaders with onboarding and integrating new hires.
- Work with Guild PMs to monitor eNPS and WWES scores, and advise on roadmap of efforts and specific initiatives.
- Keep a pulse on the regional and local case team experience through CTSUs/ CLSUs and action any areas of concern.
- Work with office HRVPs in-office to ensure all Vector team members are well supported and part of an office culture.
About You
- 10-15+ years of leadership and operational experience.
- Undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Previous experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and dynamic teams in a high growth environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled at building and maintaining a team spirit and morale.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled at communicating with senior executives and stakeholders to create buy-in in an open, honest and direct manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to interface across many areas and levels of Bain.
- Ability to manage a team of multiple stakeholders including expert practitioners.
