Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel – 15 month fixed term contract

Department: Legal-BG-UK

Overview of Department

The Legal Department assists the business by identifying and managing legal risks. Our activities focus on contract negotiation, projects that require legal input, general legal advice to the business, and pooled fund work.

Purpose of Role

The primary focus of the role will be to support our private companies funds globally, and to provide timely and accurate legal advice on global Capital Markets transactions such as IPOs.

As a member of the Commercial team, you will also be willing to build new areas of expertise and learn new skills, supporting across the Legal team as required; investment floor, client facing and also business advisory.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation, review, amendment and follow-up of legal agreements with clients and service providers;
• Assisting with the implementation of ad hoc projects and participation in project teams as identified;
• Maintenance of departmental proformas, checklists and research work;
• Identification and analysis of new legislation and consultative papers and proactive proposal and implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

• Legally qualified and holding a current practising certificate in a UK jurisdiction.

Your Knowledge and Experience

• You will have significant experience of corporate transactional work, either in another investment firm or private practice.
• Experience of capital markets and private funds is desirable.
