Working in the Business Analysis function within the Innovation Shared Services area, this is a great opportunity for an analyst to work across the full change space, from an initial idea through to the delivery of improved processes or IS applications and solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to analyse processes and requirements, and collaborate with colleagues to determine how best to deliver meaningful change. This may be achieved through enhancements to existing applications, driving process efficiencies, or building/procuring robust applications. We are a flexible team, and Business Analysts will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple projects and engage with various areas of the business over time.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently or as part of a team of Business Analysts, perform all analysis tasks associated with projects and programmes, such as preparing an analysis approach, analysis estimation and scoping, process and requirements analysis (and associated documentation), as well as working closely with project teams to pursue a solution.
  • Build strong relationships between project teams and stakeholders, acting as a 'conduit' between business users and technical teams (but not a barrier/blocker to collaboration).
  • Strive to 'do the right thing' by challenging working practices (where appropriate) and driving forward improvements in working practices.
  • Contribute to project and delivery stream strategy and output by collaborating closely with project and delivery managers to aid understanding of upcoming work, as well as influencing estimations and prioritisations as part of longer-term planning.
  • Manage time across multiple projects and programmes, and assess your own working capacity to support wider prioritisation and planning.
  • Provide peer review and honest feedback for fellow Business Analysts at all levels.
  • Contribute toward an inclusive and welcoming working environment for colleagues.

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous working experience in a business analyst role.
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset, and ability to apply them in different situations.
  • Sound hands-on understanding of the role of a business analyst, and how that fits into the application development lifecycle.
  • Desire to learn and develop key skills and techniques in a project setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers as well as stakeholders and subject matter experts, even in challenging settings.
  • A logical, proactive and flexible approach to working under pressure and balancing a varied workload.
  • Outstanding time-management and ability to multitask by utilising planning and prioritisation techniques.
  • Understanding of basic process modelling techniques.
  • Willingness to coach and develop others.
  • Experience of working in project and programme settings.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and techniques.
  • Data analysis experience (preferred).
