As a Client Service Associate, you will support the client service and business development activities of the Japan Client Service Team. This Edinburgh-based role sits within the International Business unit and involves close collaboration with colleagues across the firm, including regionally based team members. The role requires a native-level Japanese speaker, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese and the ability to convey information accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for operational servicing of Japanese clients within the Japan Client Service Team, providing extensive support for the team’s day-to-day activities, including regular tasks and ad hoc requests.
  • Handle prospect and client information requests, including triaging the team mailbox, using internal systems to source relevant information, and drafting accurate and timely responses.
  • Proactively take on additional responsibilities and support the delivery of new initiatives.
  • Implement and refine processes and best practice to enhance the efficiency and quality of support provided across the Clients Department.
  • Request client and marketing materials.
  • Assist with translation of materials.
  • Coordinate the production of reports.
  • Assist with the coordination of external industry events (where required).
  • Ensure consistency and best practice across team(s) in use of internal systems such as Exchange, Office 365, Salesforce and HighGear while working alongside internal teams to provide training on new functionality and to resolve data-related issues.
  • Respond to operational queries.

Qualifications

  • Possess, or be willing to study for, the IMC Certificate.

Your knowledge and experience

  • A native-level Japanese speaker, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese (required).
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 (required).
  • Good foundational knowledge of investment management, with the ability to work with investment-related information and client queries (required).
