We are a micro speciality coffee roastery located in East London, near Cambridge Heath, operating out of a railway arch. Our focus is artisan coffee roasting on a 12kg Diedrich gas-powered roaster, managed through Cropster software. We seek a candidate for a hybrid role: a part-time Roaster (2 days a week, Monday & Tuesday) responsible for preparing and roasting various single origin coffees to different roast levels, and performing contract roasting for clients. Additionally, the role includes part-time Barista duties (covering Wednesday and Sunday shifts), with opportunities for growth into green coffee importing and farm relationship management. Roaster Responsibilities: Organise and maintain the roastery environment. Operate a 12kg Diedrich IR-12 and a 1kg Stronghold sample roaster. Create and optimise roasting profiles in collaboration with the head roaster. Manage green beans and optimise roasted bean storage. Organise cupping sessions and record results using Cropster Cup. Assist in developing new recipes and blends. Roast and fulfill weekly coffee orders. Assist with bagging and sealing roasted coffee. Sample roast and cup new coffees. Assist with delivering coffee orders and managing product orders. Maintain and clean all equipment regularly. Customer Success Responsibilities: Maintain relationships with existing clients. Conduct training sessions as needed. Assist with on-site training. Support efforts to secure new clients. Participate in new business development. Barista Responsibilities: Serve high-quality speciality coffee beverages with attention to detail. Adjust espresso and pour-over parameters for optimal extraction. Engage warmly with customers, sharing your passion for coffee. Keep the coffee station and equipment clean and organised. Participate in cupping sessions and tastings, contributing to import decisions. Requirements: At least 12 months of experience in speciality coffee. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Team-oriented with a flexible, can-do attitude. Passion for speciality coffee and interest in growth within the industry.
