No two days are the same! You'll play a vital role in supporting children's learning, confidence and wellbeing by:
- Helping children understand and access learning activities.
- Encouraging independence whilst providing appropriate support and guidance.
- Supporting learning across a range of subjects including phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
- Delivering targeted interventions and supporting individuals and small groups.
- Helping children develop confidence, resilience and positive self-esteem.
- Making informal observations and celebrating children's achievements.
- Supporting the implementation of individual provision plans and personalised learning strategies.
- Working closely with teachers to create engaging resources and learning opportunities.
As part of our Year 1 team, you will:
- Support the planning and delivery of learning activities.
- Lead interventions that help children make excellent progress.
- Provide regular feedback to teachers about children's learning and development.
- Assist with classroom organisation, displays and resources.
- Contribute to staff duties and wider school life.
- Participate in cover arrangements when required.
- Support children's personal, medical or emotional needs where appropriate.
- Have opportunities to teach and lead learning with whole classes.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has experience working with primary-aged children (experience is essential).
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum.
- Has strong knowledge of the teaching of phonics.
